LGBTQ+ Post Cancer Strategies

You Spoke, We Listened

In OUT: the National Cancer Survey, 58% of the overall LGBTQ+ participants, 67% of the LGBTQ+ BIPOC participants, and 75% of the Gender Expansive participants stated that a post-treatment care plan which includes information helpful to LGBTQI+ individuals was important to them.

Why we need LGBTQ+ Post Cancer Resources

LGBTQ+ communities have unique post cancer needs, and right now those needs are largely going unmet. Studies show that LGBTQ+ communities report lower satisfaction with cancer care treatment, higher rates of psychological distress in survivorship, poorer health-related quality of life, and a higher number of poor mental health days per month. In response to these challenges we’ve made this Post Cancer Resource page. This page is your destination for resources specific to LGBTQ+ cancer journeys!

Support Groups

In OUT: the National Cancer Survey, LGBTQI+-specific support groups were the top request made by LGBTQI+ cancer survivors. In response the National LGBT Cancer Network is currently running cancer peer-support groups. This is a healing space to lean on your LGBTQ+ community for support throughout your cancer journey.
